In the last couple of weeks, a great deal of QParks’ workload went into the preparations for our appearance at the 1st annual European Park Conference at the ISPO 2010 in Munich going off this Sunday Feb 7th and Monday 8th. The main concern of this special congress is to bring the parks, the industry and resorts together at one place to discuss the current and future park-development in Europe. For sure, QParks is the biggest player at representing snowparks and the interests of all freeskiers and snowboarders!
The QParks Events department is currently building up a nice fair stand in hall A1, where all people are welcome to dive into the world of QParks, our 17 park projects, and convince themselves of our efforts to bring freestyle in the Alps to the next level! It will remain there until the end of the ISPO on Wednesday Feb 10th.
The year 2010 is a special one for the ISPO, since it’s both its 70th edition and 40th birthday! For those who don’t know: The ISPO is the world’s biggest International Trade Fair For Sports Equipment and Fashion and annually takes place in Germany inside the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. There, sport enthusiasts can find everything about their favorite sports, reaching from outdoor sports like skiing and snowboarding, to teamsports, fitness, sportswear and so on and so forth.
A real speciality of this year’s fair is the 1st annual European Park Conference. Since Freeskiers and snowboarders would not be happy without alpine snow parks, the park companies, the industry and the fair’s commitee have called this special feature into life. This conference will be held on the first two ISPO days while the topics of discussion include technology, safety, business organization, and events.
As QParks is the largest provider for freestyle snowparks and concepts in Europe, our appearance has important weight and we want to give everything for securing Europe’s freestyle culture. We are already curious and, to be honest, also a little nervous about the progression and the outcome. Many topics will be raised concerning ecological issues, sustainability and other highly important and relevant points for the future. In order to handle and solve these issues the best possible way, we want to aim at a way stronger collaboration with the resorts and industries, which is a major concern of the whole conference. However, our task will be anything but easy: We will stand our ground at mediating between the industries and resorts while defending the interests of all Snowboarders and Freeskiers out there in Europe! So touch wood and cross your fingers for us!
We will present all 19 of our current snowpark projects in Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Throughout the whole event, freeski- and snowboard-folks can explore our huge park-network, our media productions, our next events and much more about what’s the current taste of freestyle, while enjoying live DJ-sounds and delicious food and beverages out of our different park-regions within a relaxed and chilling atmosphere! Freeskiers and Snowboarders are invited to get in touch with the masterminds of QParks, ask questions and/ or deliver suggestions just as you like! Also, you shon't miss our "Snowpark-of-the-day-parties"!
See y’all there in hall A1, booth 128B/128E!
